Logs for beers from this brewery

My honesty first work was "meh". It tastes flat and floral, even though I can see tons of bubbles rising continuously. It's just not very good. Like fake raspberry combined with fake blueberry. And it's not getting better as I drink more.
Can at Home
I feel like I'm the wrong person to be here drinking this. It's sweet and bourbon-y on a stout. On second and subsequent sips, I start to get the cherry cough syrup taste. I expect the usual suspects would like it but not think it's the best of it's kind or anything.
Can at Home
This is a bit much. Puckeringly sour, like they extracted it from actual cranberries. It's more like an awesome cranberry drink than a beer.
Can at Home
“Pineapple” and “beer” do not mix. Or so I thought, prior to having this beer. I was utterly surprised at how well this worked. Just enough of the sweetness and tartness of the pineapple but not overwhelming. A true balance act.
Can at Home
Dark, tart, reminds me of Quad until the barrel aging kicks in and stabs me at the back of the throat. Where is the option "I'd drink this beer if it were given to me and I didn't want to offend the giver"?
Can at Home
Hey look, the advent box is back. This was horribly foamy, overflowed badly. I'm not sure I'm liking this. I'm getting some perfume flavor, bit I'm also wondering if that's left over from the nasty gingerbread I poured down the sink.
Can at Home
It is gingerbread, but it's somehow floral. And I hate floral. It's like perfume. I really don't know that I'm going to finish this.
Can at Home
Okay, I can actually taste the sweet peppermint in the porter. I like it!
Can at Home
That's tasty. I presume this is a combination of IPA and kolch or some such.
Can at Home
The peanut butter isn't off-putting in the stout. More like peanuts than peanut butter (which is a good thing). Otherwise it's a thick and heavy stout.
Can
Very very sour, and very peachy. It's a bit too much . . .
Can
Dry and super bitter. And it does remind me of the old Morton Arboretum juniper beer. That said, it's not the sort of IPA I like. But it does seem well done?
Can at Home
Bracingly bitter, on the metallic side but compellingly enjoyable. Slightly grapey.
Can at Home
It's certainly dark, cocoa, and coffee.
Can at Home
It's good. Dry but flavorful (you know, and bitter)
Can at Home
It's like bitter pumpkin with an aftertaste of pie spices that have give bad. I can drink it. I kind of wish I hadn't pass for it. (As I drink more, it's a bit like driving bad perfume)
It is very sour. The flavor owes more to raspberries than peach I feel.
Looks like they changed the name. First taste seems great - a deeply hoppy, woody flavor that is offset by some cereal funk. It's nice, but on the fruit front there's a lingering citrus oiliness that outlasts the flavor and leaves the mouth dry, just a tad off-putting.
Can at Home
I quite liked this. Not sure I got more than a hint of pineapple, the overall impression is of a bitter orange, a nice pucker, but dry and clean. I've never had the cocktail and I gather grapefruit is involved? That's believable. But it tasted more orange to me.
Can at Home
So, they literally take six minutes to pour this. It's frankly just a decent drink. You don't drink it to savor notes of this or that. You just drink it.
Citrus and Banana, with a backbone of bitter.
Strong caramel backbone, More than a bit like the European Darks that are soda-like. However it does have notes of nutty.
It's pretty mediocre. But then, what does "limeade" make one think when it comes to beer.
Can at Home
Pretty much what it says. The cherries give it a bit of a barrel aged flavor, bit it's pretty reasonable. Last beer from the advent box!
Bottle at Home
Pretty tasty. But I had a problem in that it partially froze. So I'm not sure the character here is justified. It's sort of sweet and surypy and has no carbonation left. There's a hint of barrel taste. I wish I had an unadulterated bottle . . .
Bottle at Home
December 22nd from the advent box
Bottle at Home
Spicy, fruity, not quite sweet. The flavor is really striking, it sparks on the tongue. 21st from the advent box
Bottle at Home
Still good. Almost sweet and spicy
Bottle at Home
It's mostly just a porter. It seems like a pretty decent one, but there's only a subliminal hint of any peppermint bark. Actually, I guess I can smell it after hiccupping. So that's weird. 19th from the advent box.
Can at Home
This is actually really tasty. Hop-juice and a bit of sweet. I think this was the 17th from the advent box. Which means I'm officially over a month behind. Where's your alcoholism now!?!
Can at Home
I don't know. There's a little sour, it's not really sweet, but there's also just not much there. It's like a pineapple Bubly that I guess is alcoholic. (December 18th from the advent box)
Can at Home
Interesting, sort of spicy with a definite IPA base
Bottle at Home
A nice combination of juicy and dry
Can at Home
Wow. It really is peanut butter and banana. Peanut butter on the nose. Not too awfully sweet, but not dry peanuts. Banana and peanut butter on the flavor with a little efforvecence. I think this was December 14th from the advent box. Clearly I have failed at my alcoholism.
Bottle at Home
Hard bitterness with nothing else. So much for the 13th. Very belated.
Bottle at Home
This was good. Nothing exciting, just reasonable beer.
Bottle at Home
Standard problem of something good with something bad. Oh well. Plus it's six days after the 11th
Can at Home
Wow, this punches one in the face. Super bitter, a burnt woody flavor, if you can sense past the bitter. I believe this was day 10 of the advent box. Clearly I've fallen off the wagon.
Bottle at Home
Like I've said before. Caramel, barrel, bit of aged bitterness.
Can at Mom's
On the eighth day of Christmas, I skipped one beer, and had it all the next day. This might qualify as a pale at this point, but it's still not an IPA.
Can at Home
Yeah, pretty much. . It's rather fruity and sweet, though I can taste the IPA bitterness underneath. I dunno. Faking it with actual fruit is kind of cheating when it comes to beer. It's not bad or anything, it's just not super exciting.
Bottle at Home
Tastes more barrel aged than I remember. Okay for day six
Bottle at Home
Bitter, smooth, and a head that won't go away. Seems like a pretty decent IPA. Nothing particular to state about the flavor profile. Middle of the road on the dry/juicy spectrum. Maybe slightly on the dry side. Day 4 of the advent box (belated)
Can at Home
Bitter with this odd dry spice flavor that I can't place. Day three is not the best
Bottle at Home
Day two of the advent box
Can at Home
This was darkly flavorful like a bourbon barrel aged beer, but without the parts that stab at your tongue like the proverbial scorpion. I was really surprised to like this. Hooray for the Two Brothers Advent box.
Can at Home
Just a lingering bitterness that doesn’t quite sit with me
Can at Matt’s Place
Very slightly juicy hop overtones
Can at Home
Just a nice hint of the sweet malt but maintains the crisp lightness of a lager
Can at Matt’s Place
Still a slightly sweet, cold, refreshing beer
Can at Home
Normally not a fan of hoops forward beers but this one is fine.
Can at Matt’s Place
This is interesting. I can smell the barrel on it, but it's fairly mild on the taste. It's a hard, slightly bitter sour with no fruit. I.e. a correct sour. Honestly it had a good, complex flavor profile
Funny thing is earlier tonight i passed up the piña colada for dark Cherry ice cream. And it’s the same with beer.
Pretty much what it says on the tin. It's like a macrobrew, but it tastes good.
Can at Home
Strong juice and hops. Mild bitterness. It's very tasty though I can only take small sips at a time.
Can at Home
It is a quad, which I like. But it is also barrel aged, which I don't. Those who like their barrels would enjoy this. I wish one of those folks were around to give my last can to.
Can at Home
This was simply delicious work some home made pizza.
Can at Home
Sweet and kind of fruity. I'm not sure why this is considered an IPA, but I like it.
Can at Home
I think this is a good middle of the road stout.
Really tasty. Nice flavor balanced by hops.
Draft at Paisans Pizzaria and Bar
It was pretty good. Not too sweet, somewhat bitter. I don't know, go drink it yourself.
I immediately said "ooh, ow". So that's not a good sign. It's hard and bitter with little in the way of redeeming qualities. I'm guessing the hard core IPA folks would like this.
I don't know. It's pretty tart, but I'm not sure if I like it. Weird efforvescence, some wateriness, I don't know man.
Light, but kind of tastes fake, like the Raspberry flavor is from a packet. I'm guessing that's not true, but it's how it tastes.
It's like a brunch of Cherry skins have been steeping in some beer. I'm impressed how dark Cherry it tastes.
Honestly this isn't doing it for me. Maybe I don't really like Oktoberfest beers. Luckily for them, the marginal cost of the next 5 is in fact free . . .
Bottle at Home
Dark, cherry? Sweet, tasty.
Bottle at Home
Dark, plum, reminds me of a Lagunitas Dark Swan, except less fruity.
Bottle at Home
This is kind of catching me in the back of the throat with some barrel aged caramel flavor. I'm not liking it.
Tasty, sweet and spicy.
Bottle at Home
It just tastes like a normal Pinball with this hint of something like orange/cherry hard candy. I mean, it's fine. But I don't know if it's really interesting.
Can at Home
Seems like a brackish Pils.
Can at Home
Sour, with a light, open, almost sweet taste. I really like this.
Open flavor, with a good balance between sweet and bitter. Probably sweeter than a purist would appreciate, but I really like this.
Sour, but with hints of bitterness and funk. And something like rhubarb? This is exceptionally interesting, butt I'm not sure I could drink a lot of it.
Sweet and sour, like a prune. This is very tasty.
Not bad, slightly spicy or something? I dunno.
Midori, green apple and LOADS of bubblegum. Wild.
Weird. My immediate reaction was that it smells like a jolly rancher. The flavor is like a green apple and melon rind hard candy.
A light beer with a hint of pineapple and coconut. It seems refreshing, but I'm not sure the taste would appeal for a whole glass.
It's beer. It's an IPA. I drank it. Drunkenly asking about who wins a two brothers arm wrestling contest on a taphouse tour. Jason apparently would win. I have my doubts though, I think Jim has deep rage beneath that quiet exterior. I think he's mad about the cheese curds too.
Dark sour, tart and almost prune flavor. Roy says it's a coffee sour, but I couldn't taste it.
This was a nice Pale Ale with some extra hoppy juiciness added in somehow. So, like a cross between the IPAs I like best and a Pale Ale.
Apparently this is really just ebles weisse. I still like it better.
Out of a can, this seems more bitter and less refreshing. Tastes like a pale ale, but something seems slightly off . . .
Can at Home
Tasty, nicely sour. Doesn't seem quite as natural as some of the best sours, but it still has a nice flavor profile.
Draft at A Friend's
Actually, I had a full one, and I rather liked it.
Tasty. A good amount of clarity, good but not overwhelming bitterness. I'd drink this anytime.
Decent, I can still taste the hint of peppermint, and it's a decent porter.
Actually fairly mild and somewhat flavorful. I'd have to rate something like Hop Juice for better flavor, but you pay for it with huge bitterness. So maybe this strikes a better balance. I think far fewer people would hate IPAs if they were like this, but fewer would love them.
It's actually kind of bitter, and not very sour. Kind of thin as well. I mean, I guess it's not offensive . . .
Kind of like a slightly sour melon rind flavor. But it's totally reasonable .
It's a nice, refreshing beer .Not super drt/bitter like I'd normally associate with a pils, but very pleasant to drink .
Wow, this is tasty! Coriander spice and sweet, well balanced. Really good.
This had a very good balance between bitterness and malty flavor. A solid beer lover's drink .
This is a good sour, but the pineapple is a little intrusive, like it was added separately and a little bit too heavily .
This is pretty good, the cherry infusion makes it taste like a light sour. It is however fairly sweet on the finish .
There is definitely a hint of peppermint in this. Seems fine, but nothing to write home about.
Darker than I remember .Though being forever different seems right on .
It seems less like an IPA. Very bitter, but this hard Carmel flavor that makes me think of barrel aged .I don't really get the juice of the hop .Bleh.
A fine dark lager. Nice winter drink goes down easy.
Bottle at My parents house
Tasty. A little fruit-caramel. European dark flavor
Bottle at a friend's parent's house
This time it was billed as a session IPA. this was good, scent like an IPA, pine and grapefruit, but mild with a malty finish.
Last review still holds. A non-descript beer strong on caramel flavors and very faint Belgian spice notes in the background. This place, though? It takes a lot to out-cheese Outback Steakhouse.
Draft at Longhorn Steakhouse, Bolingbrook
Slightly bitter. Somewhat malty. I don't know. I'm not that big on pale ales, though this seems like a fine example.
So, it's like a strongly hopped pilsner. Where I expect a pilsner to be clear, dry, and bitter, this is a little like a mixture of a pilsner and their hop juice. So, not dry, it is bitter, and it really doesn't have clarity. Still not what I'm looking for in a pils. :-)
Bottle at Home
Strong coffee forward, unlike the 2012 version. Overall pretty tasty.
I actually liked this better at first. Something about staying in a barrel for two years has given out a bourbon barrel aged taste. At first it's really mild, and the flavor is good. But down towards the bottom of the glass or be begins top dominate. Other than that, it's mostly porter, the coffee is more nominal than anything else. But it's a pretty decent porter.
Roy thinks I should rate this higher but I am not that drunk yet
There are dancing bears on the wall. Oh the beer... Is a bit bitter for me but I want to like it. I just kind of don't
Puckeringly bitter. I don't know, there's something there but I don't feel like working it out.
Floral and happy but with a slight tinge of bitter
Kind of middle of the road... Nothing stands out but it's quite pleasant to drink.
Mild grapefruit, getting more bitter as I work my way down the glass.
