From the brewer

A unique twist on the Cascadian Dark Ale style. Wookey Jack offers true hop aroma to rival most IPAs, with pungent citrus and herbal hop nuances, a hint of peppery rye and earthiness on the nose. Big roasty malt flavors with balanced hop bitterness and spicy rye offer a full and complex texture with a refined bittered finish. A truly different IPA for dark beer fans.

Who's been drinking this

Wow. Really well done. Citrus and hops hit you right away, but smooth's out to a lovely rye spice finish.

Smells great, rich rye malt. Thin body but long tail cereal flavor with a really pleasant and slightly tangy bitter finish.
Great rye ale, not very hoppy on the front but yummy rye lead to a clean finish.

Nice spicy peppery hop aroma. Complex bitterness, getting more salsa sort of happiness. The rye helps a lot with bringing out a good side to the bitterness with a bit of pepper.

Cereal taste hints at going sweet but remains full malt. Roasted finish pairs well with the mild bitter finish.

Quite good, I think: strong floral hop notes in fragrance and flavor, immediately mellowing out to a lightly bitter finish. Not syrupy.
Smells like a strong IPA but tastes like a moderate one. Choco-roast flavor that's not thick so doesn't get tiring. Hop present but not too much. (3oz)
