Fermented spiced cocoa smell. Roasted cocoa start, bitter dark chocolate finish. For as strong as the flavors are the body isn't that big, which is nice as it could have been syrupy but it does lack some beer malt characteristics. Leaves mouth a little tacky. Love that the label includes ingredients-- more beers need to do this!
Smells very promising, with pleasant amounts of pumpkin spice and a nice roast. This is a fairly thin porter with an initial hit of pumpkin and smooth spice flavor, followed by roasty chocolate, all well-balanced with each other. If not for the hugely burnt-bitter finish I would have loved this, but that last five percent will get you. At least it wasn't sour.
