A slightly champagne-funky, sweetish Belgian strong. Lots of brown sugar character. Somewhere between a dubbel and a tripel, I think, in terms of expectations. I might have expected a little more acid, but that might just have been neutralized by the Freigeists.
So, the first taste I had of this, bumming off of Jet, was really good, like a light sour slash lambic. But when I got one of my own, I found almost no sour, and instead some of that off-caramel that I get from barrel aged beers. So I'm left somewhat unsure.
Lighter and more fruity than I'd expect from a quadruple. Fruit is harder to pin down this time. Plum like, and rereading my last log, I could believe the raisin.
