From the brewer

This year’s release of B-bomb is aged in 12 & 15-year-old American Oak whiskey barrels and is a blend of 24 and 12-month old barrel strength Winter Ale. B-bomb achieves distinct bourbon, oak, cacao, leather, and dark coffee notes from its extended barrel aging and barrel blending. Each barrel contributes a different note, and combining each barrel to create a coherent tone is a distinct art and true pleasure. Please do enjoy this unique barrel-aged ale today but know that B-bomb will age gracefully for at least another 5 years. Don’t Be Afraid To Be Abominable.

2023 release
I found this strangely subdued in flavor; not sure if it was the beer or if it was me. It still tasted very good - light molasses and plummy flavors fading into malt. And it's certainly been a while since I had a B-Bomb, but I just expected it to be more flamboyant, especially this young.

Rummy molasses smell. I can't get over how flawless the taste is with this beer and how consistently great it is from year to year. Nothing that shouldn't be there and enough of what should be.

A little syrupy today for my taste but I'm kinda all over the place today

A delight. Aged very well. Pulled in a more mellow bourbon flavor with hints of cinnamon and light fruit. Vintage from 2011.

A special beer for Emil's goodbye. Thanks Alex! Smoothed out with age, this was almost too cloyingly sweet. It was still good, but I really missed the bite.

Sweet bourbon smell. Taste starts sweet, switches to tangy bourbony cereal goodness, and finishes caramel molasses winter-warmer. Smoothly viscous but without being tacky.

Such a great smell--fine wood. Nice malt tackiness. Super pleasant wood finish.

Mmm. Just the right amount of wood - what a great finish. Not too thick, but still possesses a wonderful chocolate creaminess.
