From the brewer

Arguably, one of our most important and popular brews, Bob's Brown Ale is brewed once a year and released every May 14th (Bob's birthday). 100% of the proceeds from Bob's are donated in honor of Charles "Bob" Hirsch to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western Washington and Alaska to provide a "home away from home" for Children's Hospital patients and families. It's big, it's brown. And it's got lots of hops.

Who's been drinking this

2021 release
Bready, lightly sweet, caramel, just a little dry sourness at the bottom of the flavor which kind of enhances that “Cheesecake Factory dark loaf of bread” character.
2021 release
You know there’s this weird subtle under taste here that doesn’t sit well with me. Otherwise it’s fine.
2015 release
A very, very nice brown ale: malt and caramel, bready and sweet.. Believe the hype, I guess?
2014 release
Nutty and Smokey. Very tasty.
2013 release
Charity beer made 1/yr; released 5/14
