Rounded dubbel with a really appealing vinous character imparted by the Chardonnay barreling. Not funky, just clean and fruity.

Smells faintly smoky. Taste is the meaty side of bacon taste, not the salty, fatty, smoky part of what one expects from bacon. After taste has some quality of opened beer left in fridge with boiled pork. Beer body itself is okay but unsure if the meat/bacon taste be distracting by the end of a glass.

Kind of tastes like a run-of-the-mill brown ale, only with less bacon.

Not nearly as good as the oak-aged version

Flavored with poppy; mead-like. The wood adds a mellow complexity. Delicious.
