From the brewer

This English-style barleywine uses floor-malted English barley, Noble hops and extended bourbon-barrel aging to bring you a complex and subtle craft beer flavor experience. We brewed this to celebrate brewing our 1000th brew and we look forward to sharing it with you, our craft beer family. It is said that 1000 represents the immortality of happiness and we hope this beer brings you immortal happiness, or at least one fun night…Because Beer Matters!

Who's been drinking this

Best way to age an excellent beer without temptation is to forget you ever bought it! More than a year plus over the past tasting, this was still very much as I remembered, based on the notes. Still very sweet, still very much kissed with liquor, but malty and smooth and somehow balanced over all that. Still a winner, and glad that I have one left to boot!
Bottle at A Friend's
Very smooth, sweet, buttery, dark fruit flavors. Boozy.
You know, this was so sweet -- sweet with malt, with whiskey, with toffee, but totally perfect in that context. Just a superbly constructed beer.
