From the brewer

Birra Moretti La Rossa is a double malt beer produced using 100% high quality barley malt. This gives it a full, caramelised malt flavour and an intense aroma of roasted malt. Its distinctive amber colour originates from the type of malt used when brewing, a special malt which is dried and roasted.

Who's been drinking this

Maybe it was because it was on draft, maybe because it was fresher, maybe because it didn’t cross an ocean before being drunk, maybe it was just refreshing after walking three miles in 85 degree heat… maybe it was sipping a beer on the banks of the Tiber…
A red, malty with some spice cake notes, but the flavor is pretty overwhelmingly alcoholic, I thought. Hard to enjoy.
Bottle at COMO, Kirkland
A light doppelbock; not too spicy but with a dry yeast profile. Thinner than most and less characterful than other examples of this style, but loads more interesting than a standard Moretti.
