This is basically a less-sweet, more-coffee version of Velvet Merkin.

Great improvement over nitro non-barreled. Good roastiness.

Rather light body. Slight sour coffee roast/bitter finish but has a tasty sort of cocoa edge.

Great whiff of bourbon and coffee that leads into a flavor that delivers on that promise. Still a bit of the Morrighan's natural acidity, but it's balanced well with the rest of the flavors here and helps it differentiate itself from the rest of the bourbon stout crowd. It's not quite at the level of Black Raven's higher-gravity brews, but it's still a standout.
