A really nice start, with a clear shot of whiskey to open, and the base beer is fine, but I think this could have used more aging to mellow the sharp, alcoholic follow-through and the sticky, woody finish in the throat. Alternately, I think a little added fruit or tartness would have helped balance the flavor.
