From the brewer

The father of the Gene family; a barrel aged version of our Eugene Porter is crafted from assortment of Belgian specialty malts, which form a complex structure of toasted grain and caramel flavors. Dark chocolate malt makes this porter black as night and infuses it with its distinct, intense, chocolate essence. After six months of aging in bourbon barrels, the result is our angry and delicious porter that we call Mean Gene.

Who's been drinking this

Nice mix of dark beer and bourbon that I remember from the Bean Gene variant, but maybe with an overtone of sour cream that reminds me of Dragon's Milk. It was nice but kind of confusing. I kept wishing it were colder than room temperature.
