From the brewer

Old school meets new school, capital R meets little r in this collaboration, the first in Rainier’s long history. Inspired by traditional German-style pilsners, we’ve added a northwest twist. The solid pilsner base provides the foundation for a soft, fruity, honeydew melon hop profile. Rainier’s long tradition of lager expertise paired with Reuben’s hop forward experience make this a hoppy pilsner that’s as refreshing as some good ol’ r&R.

Who's been drinking this

Lots of bubblegum and pine hop sheen; on the sweet side. Dry wood resin mixed with maybe some lager funk, clean finish. Not bitter. Pretty darn good result of an unlikely collaboration; maybe a rarity now that Redhook has broken the commercial brewing contract.
