The Angel of Shavano is an ancient snow pack formation on beautiful Mt. Shavano, the 14,000 foot peak that looks directly over our brewery in Poncha Springs. The Angel’s watchful eye has stood over the valley protecting everyone from Ute Indians, to gold miners, to modern day hikers and fisherman. Only visible in the spring and summer, we decided to name our delightfully tart and sessionable barrel fermented Berliner Weisse, Engel Weisse, in honor of this local landmark. Fermented and aged in American Oak.
