From the brewer
In the IPA dominated 3rd wave of craft beer there are few certainties, but what is a constant is that no one will buy Belgian beers, and if you really want to make a beer that can't sell, make it red. Knowing this we doubled down and brewed up Abigail, the most perfectly unsellable Belgian red ale we could dream up. Getting its flavor profile and reddish hue from just the melding of two Belgian malts, Belgian candi sugar, and our house Belgian yeast; Abigail comes out as dry and refreshing as any Belgian Pale Ale one would be accustomed to, but has a much more balanced and nuanced flavor profile consisting of a mild maltiness, and notes of homemade toffee, toasted grains, vanilla soaked dried currants, smashed pears, mirabelle plums, and hints of golden cherries. While brewing a beer like Abigail may not be what is cool right now, we'd like to think that one day, people will buy styles with more than just three letters, and when that day comes, we'll probably still be brewing Abigail and a slew of other unsellables.
