Possibly the most under-appreciated beer style on earth, the classic Schwarzbier is easily one of the most versatile and perfect beers there ever was. With Maiden & Priest we brewed up a classic Schwarzbier using the best German malt and hops that Bavaria has to offer; M&P is a bit malty and doughy with a light body and a dry finish. Roast character is mellow with a nice complex note of charred malt and is balanced perfectly with a mild bitterness and a lovely floral and slightly fruity hop character. Black Lagers truly are a best of both worlds and we'll be smashing plenty of Maiden & Priest throughout summer and then hide some in the fridge for winter.
