Using German Noble Hops for bitterness and flavor, our definitive golden ale is fermented warm, then cold-conditioned like a lager. It uses a centuries-old yeast strain that was initially acquired after founder Tom Schlafly married his wife, who is a native of Köln, Germany—where all of the European Union’s Kölsch is brewed.
