We brewed this smoked barleywine ale in 2011 as part of our annual Decadence series to celebrate our sixteenth anniversary. Barley malt smoked over beechwood gives it a pleasant smoky character that is balanced by a rich sweetness from two separate additions of unrefined maple syrup added during the brewing process. We then matured a small amount in premium bourbon-barrels to add layers of oak, vanilla and bourbon to this already complex and unique creation. Enjoy now or continue to age in a cool, dark place.
